Dell desmiente planes de descontinuar ventas de Linux
Esta semana, Dell dejó de ofrecer activamente PCs con Linux preinstalado en su tienda online en Inglaterra, relegándolo a una alternativa para venta telefónica. La empresa precisa ahora que la decisión tiene carácter local y que, por el contrario, ha incrementado su oferta de Linux en PC y laptops.

So far, to translate articles from Joomla! was necessary to use the knowledge of several languages of a human translator. This has now changed. Living Linux has developed a component (well, a plugin) that performs the automatic translation of content, when installed together with the well-known JoomFish. This plugin is able to perform the translations into all languages they know the Google's translation system, using as basis the default language of the site.
Features Among the configuration options are: - Only do the translations during the visit of the robots, to improve performance for users, recommended for busy sites.
- Self-published translations, enabled by default to provide persons who use it realize its translations. If your policy requires a review after translation, it is good to disable it.
- Pause between translations, not necessary to be considered an abuse by the Google service.
- Translate only during visits from a certain IP address, useful for debugging the operation, or to check translations.
Installation Installation is very simple. This is a plugin, is installed in the traditional way, entering tusitio.com / administrator, then Extensions-> Install / Uninstall Once installed the plugin, go to the Extensions menu-> plugins manager and filter System Ahi te appears Joomfish Google Translator You have to edit it, activate the plugin from Joomla so as to trigger its own flag. Once this is done, when browsing your site, every 5 minutes (depends on how long you've set) you'll see a line like this: JFGT ART 16 is => in Is the article with ID 16, translating to Spanish a Castellano The article will be fully translated at this time, you can review the translation in Joomfish. If you have no active cache in Joomla, the next time you refresh the page you'll see the article translated. If you have any questions, please ask in the support forum

Re:Joomla now with automatic translation

I am obviously not understanding the installation process
I have installed the translator plugin and enabled it but what do you mean when you say
"You have to edit it, activate the plugin from Joomla so as to trigger its own flag."
Can you give a bit more explanation on this and does translation only occur via web activity and not via Joomfish "Manage translations"
any help would be appreciated
thanks

Hi! It only ocurr via web activity, not via Joomfish You can configure to run only on bots (like google bot, yahoo, or other search engine indexers) on with all web visits. If you enable debug, then you can see the debug on frontend when some new translation is done.

Joomla now with automatic translation
Jun 26 2010 05:37:47
It is translating but not the articles that are being displayed on the page, I have over 4000 articles and it is just randomly chosing articles and translating them , is there a way to get it to translate the articles that are being displayed first? as at this rate is it will take over two weeks

Re: Joomla now with automatic translation

The plugin translate one content every 5 minutos (by default), but that content can or can't be the one that you are viewing, if someone (another person, a google bot or something) visits a different page between that 5 minutes, then you are not going to see the translation of the page you are visiting. If you want to force that, you need to set your IP on the plugin, and then it will only do translations when the visits come from your IP.

this message could be different things:
Google returns an error.
The returned document don't have the charset specified.
Google has banned your IP because you made too much requests in a small period.
You can check in your joomla cache folder to see if there is some of the logs that this plugin creates. Please tell me which of them are there.

Thanks you for your quick answer !
I found the answer : my website was on a "special" french web hosting (free.fr for french ones) which block some requests.
Now it's on a "normal" web hosting and it works perfectly : daieux-et-dailleurs.fr !
Thanks a lot for your plug-in !
M.
