The days of W indows could be counted in Cuba following the announcement in the official newspaper of a legal framework for migrating to Linux.

The Cuban government newspaper, Juventud Rebelde said last year that they are working within a legal framework to replace Windows for Linux on all the computers on the island, according to statements by Roberto del Puerto, director of the state office of information technology .

The change reflects the government's socialist principles, they no longer want to use software produced by a capitalist American company.

Also notice that there are already more than 1,500 computers using the Linux operating system.

Will we see a Linux user in Cuba a few months?
