Today, October 12, we remember when America was discovered. An event with much reelevancia to the world, but with a special meaning for Linux users. Back then it was the beginning of misery for Americans, when a bunch of foreigners came to this place to contaminate it with their ideas and diseases. It took over 300 years the people of America gained independence from the foreign slavers who demanded taxes regardless of whether people went without food or not. This has a strange similarity to the software, for about 30 years of computer users have been enslaved, forced to pay a tax (license) costly and become slaves of a certain application or operating system. But now we have something new to remember, though not the same day, opensource, especially Linux, has made a difference for many of us, giving us a choice of freedom where we can do whatever we want, with responsibility, and offering our community efforts to ensure an overall growth. If we reached this free software application to our daily lives, we would surely be more free in our life.
