Nobody - well, almost anyone - from those who use Linux do not have the sad experience of being the last to update native proprietary applications. Whether the problems and legal trickery or that manufacturers do not consider market Linux as a castle, we all have to endure to find the feature we want in our system does not work, however on Wednesday, Adobe released its native version of Flash Player with full support for Linux.

This release of Flash Player 10 (in beta since May) has great changes over its predecessor, released in 2006, when Linux was forced to wait more than 6 months to a compatible version. Version 10 says it has full support for Linux in all its features, including support for the films made with After Efects CS4, special effects and filters to animate and change the enriched content. It also includes support for 3D transformations and animations, a new advanced system (API) of sound and a calibration engine for audio processing at the application level, including dynamic audio generation (something like a synthesizer).

The complete change all at once, is a new element of edge over Silverlight (Microsoft), which has left Linux out of its holder (had to be! If not, would not Microsoft). Adobe also plans to provide a version for Solaris later this year. Flash features are scheduled for 10 also appear in the next version of the Adobe AIR platform, expected to leave at the same time for Linux, Mac and Windows in late 2008.

The downloads for Linux are available from the Adobe website in. Deb,. Rpm, tar.gz, APT, and YUM.
