Dell has launched its first product based on Moblin, is a Mini 10v with a preinstalled version of Moblin and Ubuntu. This special edition Remix Moblin called Ubuntu Developer Edition is aimed primarily at developers and so Dell wants to make clear on your site: As it stands, Moblin OS is not a completely stable and bug free. Features available in Ubuntu Remix Developer Moblin are not comparable to those available in other offerings based on the Linux operating system. As if you did not know is Moblin is an open source project focused on building a Linux-based platform optimized for next generation mobile devices, including Netbooks, Mobile Internet devices and infotainment systems within the vehicles.
Major distributions like Fedora, Suse and Ubuntu are building Moblin derived by integrating this technology into their own netbooks oriented distributions. Ubuntu Canonical has built a special remix that incorporates key parts of Moblin, thus providing users Moblin benefits without sacrificing the advantages of Ubuntu, as is its large number of packages available. Moblin is under intense development, but is ready for those adventurers who want to try it today. The Moblin-based netbook with Ubuntu can be found for just $ 299 at Dell, where you can also find a version with Ubuntu only the same price.
